Disparity Map
About Disparity Maps
A disparity map is a depth map that represents the difference in coordinates of similar features within two stereo images. It is calculated by comparing the left and right images from a stereo camera setup.
In computer vision, disparity maps are used for:
- 3D reconstruction
- Autonomous navigation
- Object detection and recognition
- Augmented reality applications
For best results, use images taken with a stereo camera where the left and right images are properly aligned.
